I am 4 weeks post op and still finding it hard lifting heavy things etc. Just wanted to know if this is normal? Also I was hoping to get the other hand done before Xmas but my follow up for my first hand is not till December. Maybe it's not a good idea seeing as I'm still having pain etc in the hand that has been done.

Some pain and difficulty with grip can persist for a long time after surgery in some patients - indeed if you are unlucky it can be permanent. That's one of the reasons why I prefer only operating on one side at a time - the patient is in a much better position to make up their mind about the second hand once they have experienced the first one.
