Difficulty working
Hi
I had my last lot of injections with you last June/July, and the symptoms have returned. I am being woken up now by excruciating pains in my right hand, and have bought a TENS machine to try to alleviate the pain. I have also started having severe problems writing (not good, as I am a teacher) , and am starting to find it difficult to fasten my bra! My partner bought me a foam hand exercise ball for Xmas, but I can't even use that without incredible effort.
Is there anything you could do for me? I was hoping being at home and resting my wrist for a few days during half term would help, but I am still having pain on writing.
Thanks
Jo
Have you got clinics on Wed morning? I have some free time then, and it is difficult to arrange cover at short notice for Mon/Tues. I was hoping the night time pain might have just been a fluke, but it wasn't.
Jo
Yes I have a clinic on Wednesday but it's in London at King's College Hospital I'm afraid - I'm back in Canterbury Thursday, London again Friday. JB
Hi, been to work and cleared it with my boss, could I come in Thursday morning? If so , what time?
Jo
It looks as though we have some inadvertent double bookings on Thursday mid to late morning which I will try to honour but that means the latter part of that clinic is going to get very busy indeed so if I am going to fit you in it will have to be very early - I would suggest that I test you myself at about 8:30am if you can make that. JB
OK I'll get in a s soon as I can - always dependent on Canterbury traffic though. JB
It might have been better to contact us earlier. I doubt if the exercise ball will help and although there are studies of TENS for CTS they are not very impressive. The obvious options are to re-inject or operate but if the pain is that severe we should probably see you to make sure that it is still CTS and not another problem. It's too late now to fit you in to a clinic during half term but I can probably do something Monday or Tuesday next week if you are free? JB
