Special Topics

The following pages cover issues which are often raised by patients and which are complex enough to justify a page of their own. Some of them are prompted by discussions which have arisen in the patients forums here.

At present the topics covered are:

Secondary CTS - when CTS is caused by another disease

Double Crush Syndrome - the theory that compression of a nerve in the neck, or elsewhere, can predispose to CTS

Pregnancy - CTS is very common in late pregnancy and there are special considerations in treating it during pregnancy

Breast Cancer - There are several issues relating to breast cancer and it's treatment which have a bearing on CTS

Trigger digit, Dupuytren's contracture and CTS - three conditions which often occur together

Suggestions for further additons to these 'special interest' pages are welcome.
