Injection appointment
Hi Dr. Bland I am wearing my splints now for 2 weeks during the night. My left hand is slightly better but now I have pain all the way up to my elbow. My right hand hasn't changed much. I think it got a bit worse. We spoke about injections in both hands on the 15th of December. Could you please confirm the appointment? I have an appointment that morning in a different hospital. So any time after 10 am would be fantastic. Thank you

Very sorry but I'm a afraid there will be no-one able to inject this week - a matter of staff sickness so not much I can do about it. I hope we will be able to do something in the week before Xmas. JB

I wearing the splints every night but they don't work anymore.
After about 2 hours of falling asleep I wake up in severe pain. My right hand is really bad now. I don't know what to do anymore. I hope you can fit me in very soon.

We can't inject on Fridays at present but we could do Monday or Tuesday next week quite easily JB

Had my injections in both wrists on the 23rd of January this year. The result was fantastic. No pain, I could sleep through. All was fine. 3 days ago I started getting pain in my left hand again. Especially at night. Seems it gets worse by the day. My right hand is still ok. Is there anything I can do????

I had now 2 injections in each wrist.
My last one was at the 23rd of June 2018
The pain in my right hand gives me sleeplessness nights again.
I just had 7 weeks of after a total knee replacement and thought I am fit for work. Now this again.
Is there any chance of a third injection? Or is it too early. Thanks for your help.

I haven't slept through in a fortnight now and feel really low. Considering acupuncture as well as it is so bad and nothing works for me to get rid of the pain.

I have just received my letter with my appointment for the 29th of April. Any chance I could have an appointment earlier or is there a place anywhere else who can inject my wrists? Don't think I can cope with another 5 weeks with only little sleep ( about 2 to 3 hrs per night. Thank you

I've found a cancellation on Monday 1st April at 2:00pm and moved the appointment there. I'm out of the office tomorrow so I may forget to send out a new appointmnt letter but with luck I will remember to do that on Wed am - the appointment has definitely moved though - I did that through remote access to the computer system this evening. Hi. Just to give you an update after I had my injections on the 1st of April. My left hand is absolutely fine. My right hand is good too. Just a slight numbness in my middle and ring finger. But I can sleep through the night and I am pain free. Thanks again

My CTS is back in it's full evil in my right hand. Numbness all the time and sleepless nights because of the pain.
My left hand however is fine.
Could we discus a treatment at some point.
I would like another injection in my wrist but I dont know if that's an option. My last injection I had on april the 1st. Pain is back for about 4 weeks now. So it lasted only 4 month.

We could inject again as long as your NCS results have not gone markedly downhill,. I've put you in an appointment slot on 23rd September and we'll send out a letter. JB

Just an update after the injection in my right hand on the 23rd of September.
I am still pain free which is a relief. The only thing I have permanent is the numbness in my fingertips ( middle and ring finger)
Do you think i should consider surgery?
Bit scared that the pain and sleepless nights are back soon

It's not bad enough that you have to rush to surgery but at grade 3 witha good response to injection you are a good candidate for the operation statistically speaking - you have about the best chance possible of a good outcome if you want to go for it and try to get it dealt with permanently. JB
I spoke about it to your colleague when I had my injection last time. I would like to go ahead with the operation on my right hand. But my issue is the timing. I know you were short staffed a month ago and you had no appointments. But if there is one available just before Christmas I would like to take it as i have a few weeks off anyway. It would help me a lot. Thanks for your quick response Dr. Bland.

Looks like we can find a surgery appointment in Ashford in general practice on 11th December or probably a space on an operating list here at Kent and Canterbury on December 18th, though getting you on to that one relies on the waiting list office processing the paperwork properly so there is scope for the admin to fail there. JB

Unfortunately the waiting list office have already filled the 18th - this is the problem when I don't have direct access to the booking system for the hospital theatre lists. The next available spaces are now going to be sometime in January - sorry! JB

Hi. My right Hand has really improved after surgery on it. Pain free no trouble.
